10F Beehive Mesh Base – Mesh Vented Bottom Board With Drawer Trap

These 10-frame beehive bases are made from New Zealand pine and 304 stainless steel.

The bases feature a mesh base for hive health, ventilation, and small hive beetle/varroa management. The bases also have a removable draw tray to help trap small hive beetles/varroa. The bees chase the Beetles/Varroa around the hive and they fall through the mesh bottom. The beetles/varroa can be trapped in the removable tray drawer by using chux cloth, oil, or diatomaceous earth (check regulations in your state).

Wax dipping is a process many commercial beekeepers use to preserve the timber for a longer working life. The bases are dipped into a wax mix of 50/50 microcrystalline/paraffin.
